Does the TomTom go 720 have voice recognition for US users?

By The Navigator • October 17, 2009 • Filed in: TomTom GO 720

I paid for the TT go 720 gps yesterday from buy.com as well as it says it includes voice recognition, though we have review things which contend differently for US users? Any help?

Voice recognition is called "speech to text" by Tomtom and is not available on the 720. The 700 series only has "text to speech", which means it reads roads to you but it can’t "hear" what you say.

You need a 900-series tomtom for "speech to text".

I found that garmin product is of high quality albeit the price is also a bit high but it’s worth paying.
